Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport
Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport opened in 1991, and is now the fifth busiest airport in China. It is a dual use airport, with both cargo and passenger airline operating at the airport. The airport is connected to Hong Kong International Airport via direct ferry routes, where passengers can transit between the two airports without the need to pass through immigration and passport control. The airport has two runways, one at 3,400 meters and the other measuring 3,800 meters. The airport use to have a total of four terminals, however three of these closed, and the newer and much larger terminal remains. The airport is capable of accommodating any type of aircraft, no matter the size. The terminal is split into sections, with a main terminal area and two large corridors which intercept to form a cross. There are a number of restaurants and shops within the terminal, including a number of designer stores. There is a VIP Lounge for business travellers and members of frequent flyer schemes. There is also a number of hotels on site. The airport is located just over 30 km away from the city centre, and is well connected. The airport is serviced by metro and rail services. Regular bus services also connect the airport and the city, and cross-border bus services run to destinations across Hong Kong, Kowloon, and New Territories.
