Auckland Airport

Auckland Airport is an international airport in New Zealand which welcomes 71% of the country’s international air travellers onto the island. The alternative airport, and second largest in New Zealand, is Christchurch International Airport. The airport has two runways with taxiways running parallel. Auckland Airport has two terminals, a large international terminal which is undergoing an impressive expansion, and a smaller domestic terminal. Each terminal features retail areas comprising of shops and restaurants. The international terminal boasts a VIP lounge for those travellers looking to relax before their flight. At present the domestic terminal doesn’t feature any VIP facilities. The airport is the only airport in the world, other than Dubai International Airport, to have three Emirates Airbus A380s on the tarmac at the same time. The airport is approximately 21 km south of Auckland’s city centre, and is easily accessible by train or bus. The Skybus is an express bus which operates between both terminals and the city centre every ten minutes. The bus services operates 24 hours a day.
