In February 2021, we were asked to arrange a return flight to Russia for a German volleyball team competing in the CEV Champions League Volley 2021.
With no direct scheduled services available, a charter would allow the players to relax and prepare for their match during the flight without the disruption of a stopover. With a limited budget and sporting equipment to transport in addition to the 20 passengers, we needed to find a cost-effective solution that met the client’s needs.
Our Solution
Route: Berlin > Kazan > Berlin
Aircraft: Bombardier CRJ200
Our experienced team worked with their colleagues at Air Charter Service’s office in St Petersburg to source a Bombardier CRJ200 from a local operator, which was competitively priced and could accommodate the team and their additional cargo. Using a Russian operator also made it easier to secure the travel permits needed for the charter to go ahead.
The Finer Details
Global Network: With three offices in Russia, we’ve built strong relationships with the country’s operators and were able to offer a solution that was unavailable to the German brokers competing with us for the contract.
Extra Touches: Our relationship with the operator meant that we were also able to secure complimentary catering for a hot meal during the flight.
